Children will step back in time to better understand the pioneers’ courageous journeys west from Independence, Missouri on the Oregon Trail. Participants will learn through first-hand experiences such as mapping and journaling their journey, creating a covered wagon from canvas and wood, and exploring the museum’s gallery of Old West artifacts. Other immersive activities will include making a burlap-covered journal, playing pioneer bingo, and learning how to draw a horse and covered wagon step-by-step! Activities are self-guided; families may drop in at any point during the times listed. RSVP is requested; email [email protected] to confirm your participation.
