The Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix is now accepting applications for its 2019 Yesod Leadership Program through January 31.

Young Jewish adults form a closely knit cohort, meeting Tuesday evenings from 6 pm to 9 pm over eight sessions that begin February 5.

The curriculum, developed through the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning and written by Dr. Erica Brown, offers insights into personal and organizational leadership through Jewish perspective. Course content merges Jewish text study, business skills, leadership theory and experiential application.

Sessions are taught by Federation CEO Marty Haberer and each is co-facilitated by different communal leaders. Topics include the difference between power and influence, mentoring and growing others, learning from failure and nurturing vision to name a few.

“Yesod is a unique blend of leadership skills and Jewish learning to create the next round of Jewish leaders utilizing Jewish textual studies, business journals and relevant case studies,” said program coordinator  and development associate Kelly Harris. “It has been amazing to watch the eleven individuals from the first cohort grow into key community leaders and we look for great things for our 2019 cohort as well.”

Applications are due by Thursday, Jan. 31. Application form and information is available jewishphoenix.org/yesod19.
