As we age, our nutritional needs, food preferences and eating habits change.
Enjoy a morning with friends learning how eating well can help you improve your
health and quality of life. Each session will conclude with a cooking
demonstration and lunch.
Part 1 – What is Food? Tuesday, April 5th 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
Must register by April 3rd
Not everything we eat these days is real food. Do you know the difference
between real food and edible products that aren’t really food? Learn how to
make smart food choices and separate truth from fiction by using food labels and
your common sense when choosing what to eat.
Cooking Demonstration Focus: Easy ways to increase Fruits & Veggies in our diet
Part 2 – Why We Eat? Tuesday, April 12th 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
Must register by April 10th
Is it a struggle to eat because you don’t feel like cooking for just one or two
people? Do you just not have the appetite you used to? Or, conversely, do you
consume foods mindlessly, not realizing what or how much you have eaten? In
either case, it is important to know why people eat in order to better understand
your own patterns.

Part 3 – What’s On Your Plate? Tuesday, April 19th 10:30 am – 1:00 pm

As we age, our nutrient requirements change, as should the foods we eat in order
to maintain our health and vitality. Learn what nutrients to include, how to create
balanced and easy meal plans, as well as how shopping and food safety can
impact your health.
