Get soaked at new JCC splash pad

The Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center opened its new activity pool and splash pad last week, completing Phase II of The J’s aquatic center renovations. Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane dropped by on July 21 and tried out the splash pad’s water cannon to soak The J’s CEO Stuart Wachs and Managing Director Kim Subrin – suit and tie, pearl, pumps and all!

The renovated 25-yard-long main pool opened earlier this summer. See New Aquatics Center Makes a Splash.

To celebrate the grand opening of the aquatic center, The J will host a community-wide pool party on Aug. 21, from 12:30 – 3 pm. The free celebration is open to all and features a live DJ, music, water activities and contests, icy treats and a mermaid visit. Optional lunch is $5 in advance and $7 the day of the event.
