With a collection of nearly 16,000 instruments and objects from around 200 of the world’s countries and territories, the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) provides a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors of all ages.
MIM’s five Geographic Galleries showcase music and cultures from every country in the world through multimedia that allows you to hear, see, and feel the creative spirit of people as they play their instruments.
In MIM’s Artist Gallery, get a close-up look at instruments played by influential artists, such as Elvis Presley®, Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift, Carlos Santana, Maroon 5, Jake Shimabukuro, and many others.
Bang a gong, strum a Burmese harp, test your hands at the theremin and have fun making some music in the Experience Gallery with instruments on display throughout the museum.
MIM also presents a wide variety of concerts in its comfortable, acoustically superb 300-seat theater. Approximately 200 artists appear each year, including many who have rarely, if ever, been seen in Phoenix. From jazz to classical, bluegrass to singer-songwriters, MIM is an unparalleled venue for enjoying old favorites and experiencing new sounds from around the world.
