Partnership Provides Kosher Meal Delivery to Community

Handmaker, Chabad and Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona have entered into a partnership to further the work of Handmaker and Chabad of Tucson to help tackle the issue of food insecurity in the community.  A Glatt Kosher Meal option will now be offered to those meals already being provided by Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona.

Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona began in 1968 as a project of Meals on Wheels, when a grant was received to provide a more robust meal delivery service to older persons than what Meals on Wheels offered. They began providing special diet meals, and two meals daily, to meet this need, and continue to do so today.

In 1970, when the grant ended, a core group of volunteers including those from the Pima County Medical Society Auxiliary, wanted to continue this service. And that’s when Mobile Meals of Tucson was born.

For those who are concerned about having what they need for their observance of Passover, there is still time to sign up for Kosher for Passover meal deliveries during the week of Passover through Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona.

For those needing kosher meals for Passover, you must sign up by March 24 through Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona by calling 520-622-1600 or visiting  mobilemealssoaz.org.

Those who are interested in ordering Kosher and Kosher for Passover meals to pick up directly through Handmaker Catering services, contact Mike Felde by March 22 at Handmaker at 520-322-7009.
