Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona and Jewish Community Foundation of Southern Arizona has joined with Social Venture Partner’s Fast Pitch Program. On Thursday, March 11 a virtual crowd from all over the world witnessed exceptional nonprofit leaders share innovative, three-minute “Fast Pitches.”

“Ten small local nonprofits, each diligently meeting the needs of those most impacted by COVID-19, racial injustice, and emergency social needs in our community, were given the opportunity to make a ‘fast pitch’ to community members for funding,” shares Graham Hoffman, President & CEO of both the Federation and Foundation in his “From the Desk of Graham Hoffman” update on March 17. “Generous donor-advised fund holders at JCF who attended the event have donated more than $20,000 for these organizations in need.”

SVP Tucson is an ever-expanding community of engaged philanthropists dedicated to fostering collaborative, effective and sustainable approaches to solving social challenges.

The Fast Pitch Class of 2021 organizations are working at the forefront of the intersectional movements for racial, economic, & social justice. They’re tackling incarceration issues, gender inequalities, education, economic disparities and more:

Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson
Boys to Men Tucson
JobPath
Make Way for Books
Native Music Coalition
Second Chance Tucson
Sunnyside Foundation
TMM Family Services
Therapeutic Riding of Tucson
YWCA Southern Arizona

The Fast Pitch Selection Committee consisted of a team of 17 partners and community members who reviewed 47 applications and selected the Class of 2021.

To prepare for the Fast Pitch event, these 10 nonprofit leaders will participate in a redesigned and even more robust training program. The program includes an enhanced “pitch” training and additional support in fundraising and marketing. Graham will be a trainer on donor connection in this “Phase 2A”
