At the end of this summer, Jewish Federation Senior Vice President, Fran Katz, will move into a new position at the Tucson Jewish Community Center as chief development officer, a position newly created as a result of the J’s most recent strategic planning process. A long-time Tucsonan, with deep personal ties to the Tucson community, Fran began her professional work at the Federation in 2015.
The following quote from Fran was included in the “Message to Our Community” that announced Fran’s position change from the Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation of Southern Arizona and the Tucson JCC:
“Throughout my years as the Federation’s Senior Vice President, it has been a tremendous privilege to work with the passionate volunteers, lay leaders, and professionals who tirelessly donate their time and resources to help those less fortunate in our community and around the world. I am very grateful for and proud of all that I have learned and accomplished while at JFSA. While I am sad to leave, I am also looking forward to the future.
“The J has always had a very special place in my heart and is truly the only other agency I could ever consider as a professional ‘home.’ It is important to me that people understand I am not leaving the Federation for any reason other than for my own professional growth. After six years focusing on ‘community’ giving, I will be refocusing my efforts to develop the resources necessary to sustain a single organization. I am thrilled to apply my experience to build our J, the center of Jewish life for our community.”
