As of May 2021, one of Scottsdale’s kosher restaurants is under new ownership. Rabbi Jordan Brumer completed the purchase of Kitchen 18 at Scottsdale Road and Shea Blvd., and he is looking forward to providing quality kosher food to the Jewish community.
Previous owner, Nathan Uvaydov, who owned and ran the restaurant for the past 5 years, shared his hope and excitement for the restaurant to continue to provide a high quality and unique dining experience under the new ownership.
Kitchen18 recently completed a large renovation project during the pandemic including a slight expansion and complete remodel of the dining room and kitchen. Because of these changes taking place prior to the change in ownership, Rabbi Brumer doesn’t plan on making any significant changes, since the food and ambiance already share the restaurant’s mission for providing food that is “fresh, healthful, and carefully prepared for your wellness and peace of mind.”
Kitchen18 prepares food and drinks according to Glatt Kosher standards serving 100% Kosher, all-natural, and grass-fed meat and using the season’s freshest vegetables. The kitchen is completely dairy-free, and bread and pastries are prepared from scratch. Diners can also enjoy a nice selection of kosher wine, beer and specialty cocktail drinks.
And for more options, Kitchen18 provides specially designed Shabbat takeout meals and catering menus to serve the community with delicious food for parties of 5-500.
Prior to this new venture, Rabbi Jordan Brumer had been serving as the director of Jewish Arizonans on Campus (JAC) for the past 16 years. His wife, Risa Brumer, has now taken over this role as Rabbi Brumer begins to put his focus on continuing to create a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant.
