Following the destruction of the Second Temple in the year 70, Jewish life could have simply ceased to exist. Minus its central place of worship, the very heart of the people had been cut out. It took a remarkably special group of individuals — determined to keep Judaism alive — to actually keep it alive … and make it THRIVE! This interactive session will focus on the early literature of these Rabbis (Pirkey Avot), and examine how these incredible texts “inform” our Jewish lives today — especially during the High Holiday season! Benzy Kogen is a fourth-generation Master Jewish Educator and holds four degrees in education. Benzy currently serves as the High Holiday Cantor at Handmaker Home for the Aging in Tucson.
