Meet the outrageous drag queen and TV cooking show host, Betty D. Licious, in her first live TV special. Betty and her band of back-up boys manage mess-ups and mishaps on camera, while off-stage she faces personal struggles with aging, losing friends, and being her authentic self. When Betty learns of a plot to end her TV series, hilarity and hysterics collide. Cookin’s a Drag is a wildly campy send-up with a poignant heart of gold.

Yom Ha’atzmaut commemorates Israel’s Independence. It is set on Sunday, April 28, in TJCC’s Sculpture Garden. The family-friendly festival features a children’s petting zoo, and a variety of games and crafts. Performances will include Israeli folk singers Erez and Gal and the TJCC’s Sparks Cheerleaders. Discussion will follow screening of Israeli film. Proceeds from a vendor’s marketplace will support a refugee child at camp this summer.
Savory and sweet food options and Israeli beer and wine will be sold. As the festival date coincides with the Sephardic Jewish Maimuna celebration, there also will be a belly dancer demonstration and a stall preparing muflita, fried dough wafers resembling pancakes, traditionally served on this holiday.
