“Diabetes and pre-diabetes affect more than one-third of Americans and many may not even know they have the disease. The good news is diabetes can be prevented or managed and people can live a healthy, happy life,” said Dr. Birkholz. “We encourage everyone to come and learn more about diabetes.”
The event is presented in partnership with Atria Park of Sierra Pointe and HonorHealth.
“Because diabetes and nutrition go hand-in-hand, people can learn how to use food to better manage and control diabetes and to reduce their risk of developing the disease,” said Caren Rische, nurse at Atria. “Diabetes is part of our care management at Atria Park of Sierra Pointe and we are excited to partner with the Valley of the Sun JCC and HonorHealth on this very important event.”
The event is free, but seating is limited and registration is required. Light refreshments will be served and dietary laws are observed.
