Nosh & Knowledge
Explore a variety of non-political Jewish topics, including people, history, current events, laws, culture, humor, food and Israel. Each participant reads a section of a select article which is followed by spirited discussion. No extensive knowledge of Judaism is required. So, join the group and enjoy a little learning while making some new friends. To ensure all group members have the opportunity to express themselves, the group is limited to 40 participants. Single Awareness at the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus, 12701 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale at 6:30 pm. This series is intended for all single Jews over age 21. Topics include Dating Yourself: Knowing You, You’re Still Single? Oy Vey or OK and Is G-D Your Wingman or Wingwoman. This group provides hope, strength and support for Jewish alcoholics and addicts, as well as their families and friends. All are welcome-affiliated (from reform to orthodox) or unaffiliated-with Judaism; connected or alienated. Spouses and children of addicts, parents dealing with the pain of their loved one’s addiction, and addicts who are struggling or celebrating sobriety from across the spectrum of Jewish life come together to create a strong spirit of unity.
Fall Butterfly Exhibit (Sept 30-Nov 19). 9:30am-5pm. Included with admission: $24.95 adults, $12.95 ages 3-17, ages 3 & under free. Butterflies and other beneficial insects join together for this fun new exhibit. From pollinators to predators, insects have amazing powers and play a variety of roles in the desert.
