Award-winning novelist Marcia Fine released her seventh book and fourth historical fiction novel, Hidden Ones – A Veil of Memories, this March. She will be having a book signing on April 1 from 2-4 pm at the LDV Wine Gallery at 6951 E. First St. in Scottsdale. The event will feature complimentary light bites and wine tasting (for a small fee).

The Famous Chocolate Seder @ Tucson Jewish Community Center

The Tucson Jewish Community Center (the Tucson J) will celebrate its famous Chocolate Seder on Saturday, April 1 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Jewish Heritage Center. This famous annual event for school-aged children is so much fun and well respected, that the Tucson J won a national Jewish Community Centers Association Biennial Award for the program several years ago.

 

Tickets are $3.00 in advance or $5.00 at the door and can be purchased online at tucsonjcc.org/specialevents or by calling 520-299-3000. Children ages 2 and under are FREE. Space is limited. Tickets sell out fast!

 

The J’s annual Chocolate Seder is a high-energy event, oozing with sweetness and boasting chocolate-dipped strawberries for the karpas, a marshmallow and chocolate charoset mixture and even four glasses of chocolate milk substituted for a traditional seder’s four glasses of wine! The evening includes a fun, interactive Seder, sing-a-longs, prizes and of course…lots of chocolate!

You need to know if you are a carrier of a genetic disease. The Jewish Genetic Diseases Center of Greater Phoenix offers an opportunity to learn about your genetic risks and options through an educational seminar given by one of Phoenix’s outstanding Geneticists from Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Afterward, receive personal genetic counseling and get screened for the most current panel of genetic diseases, all at a highly subsidized rate. If you use your insurance, your screening is free!
The Education & Screening Event will be held April 2 from 10 am-3 pm at the Ina Levine Jewish Community Center, 12701 N Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale. In addition to genetic counseling and education there will be raffle prizes and networking with fellow Jewish community member.
