Through entertaining hypotheticals, Lynda Shely engages the audience in a discussion of common ethical landmines related to technology, including staff training tips (whether a law firm, government office or in-house legal) on the ethical use of the internet (and cell phones), recent amendments to the Arizona Rules of Professional Conduct (including new mandatory succession planning requirements), and common ethics email mistakes lawyers make. The Valley of the Sun JCC offers the community four free yoga classes on June 21 to celebrate the International Day of Yoga.
“Yoga has so many benefits for both the mind and body that we wanted to take this opportunity to invite the community to experience it at no cost,” said Denise Krater, fitness director. “Regular yoga practice improves strength, balance and flexibility while releasing tension and stress.”
The J’s yoga offerings on June 21 include:
9:30 am: Yoga Flow – flowing movements paired with breath to release mind and body
11 am: Restorative Yoga – uses blankets and bolsters rejuvenate the body
Noon: Gentle Yoga – gentle postures strengthen core and increase flexibility. Great for beginners
6 pm: Power Yoga – Challenging poses increase strength and stamina
The classes are free and open to the community.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring water.
Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., children ages 4‒12 and their families are invited to learn the stories of the Western trailblazers by charting the trail of Lewis and Clark, crafting a personal journal to take home and learning about families of the Old West. Storytelling by living history interpreter Michelle Martin will take place at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in the theater. Cost: $5 per person. Free to museum members.
