Family Shabbat Service & Dinner @ Congregation Anshei Israel

Family Shabbat at Congregation Anshei Israel, 5550 E 5th St., Tucson from 5:45 pm (service), 7 pm (dinner). This interactive and upbeat Shabbat celebration for families incorporates fun-spirited melodies and family-themed activities. We’ll share Shabbat dinner, followed by Open Lounge in the Youth Center with games and fun. $25 per family (two adults & up to 4 children); adults (13+) $10 per person. If Not Now, When? A Social Justice Retreat @ Location provided upon registration

Join Valley Beit Midrash and Arizona Jews for Justice for a social justice retreat that will recharge your spiritual batteries and awaken your sense for reflection & renewal! Over the course of this three-day retreat, participants will take in a reflective Shabbat dinner, participate in workshops, and enjoy a festive barbecue to celebrate the efforts of all the work we have done so far over the last several months.

Day one –
Shabbat dinner at a private residence (Address provided upon registration)

Day two –
Workshops:
– How to Raise Your Social Justice Consciousness!
– Social justice organization skills class

Break-out group sessions on:
-Public speaking
-Story of self
-How to build community partnerships!

Day three –
Panels on the topics of:

– Women’s rights
– How to improve local public education
– LGBTQ+ allyship
– Speaking out against hateful rhetoric
– Immigration, Refugee, and Asylum Seeker support!

The retreat will end with a festive BBQ!

$50 registration fee includes all food and access to all panels and workshops

Resisting Irrelevancy: A Quirky Collection of Quick Comedies @ Theatre Artists Studio

Contemporary, fresh and funny, this compilation of satirical short plays overflow with offbeat humor that leans towards the quirky and irreverent and focuses on the absurdities that abound in everyday reality. Join us as we open our 14th season by celebrating the work of a wonderfully talented woman we call our own actress, playwright, journalist and Studio Member Debra Rich Gettleman.

Tu B’Av Heart 2 Heart 2019 @ Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas

Heart 2 Heart AZ is working in partnership with local and national organizations and communities to bring together Jewish singles (21+) representing all observance levels from across the country for a weekend full of love, connection, and discovery, in honor of Tu B’Av.

The weekend will consist of social events and learning sessions with various topic discussions that include the following: Challenges & Solutions to Being Jewish & Single Today, Jewish Dating In an Online World, How to Identify a B’Shert/Soul Mate, and much more!
