Special Kabbalat Shabbat Service for young families to welcome the Sabbath with stories and songs, followed by kid-friendly Shabbat dinner. RSVP needed by Aug. 3.

NefeshSoul, a non-denominational Jewish Congregation, will host High Holy Day services in the sanctuary of Valley Unitarian-Universalist (VUU) Congregation in Chandler. Services will be led by Rabbi Dr. Susan Schanerman and Cantorial Soloist Susan Colin. The congregation holds all services and programs at the VUU campus, located at 6400 W. Del Rio Street, Chandler, 85226.
Interested persons are invited to attend High Holy Day services. Tickets are not needed; however, those attending are requested to make a generous contribution.

Rabbi Ian Pear, a former Phoenician, is coming in from Jerusalem as a Scholar in Residence on August 9, sponsored by the Bureau of Jewish Education. At 5:45 pm he will present a Special Class entitled: Ancient Insights into Modern Problems and a Ray of Hope in a Troubled Region: The Environment in Jewish Thought & Israeli Practice.
At 7:00 pm there will be a lecture book signing and dessert. Rabbi Pear’s latest book is The Book of Genesis: The Power of Beginnings, Shir Hadash – New Journeys Along an Ancient Path. It focuses on how the Book of Genesis offers insights for modern man – how we can start again developing and improving relationships with family, community our world and our G-d.
