This interactive and upbeat Shabbat celebration for families incorporates fun-spirited melodies and family-themed activities. We’ll share Shabbat dinner, followed by Open Lounge in the Youth Center with games and fun. Come celebrate Shabbat with ruach (spirit) and your congregational family! Dinner $25 per family (two adults & up to 4 children) and/or adults (13+) $10 per person. RSVP needed by June 14.
Desert Foothills Jewish Community Association is presenting a Summer Film Festival. Films will be shown monthly following Shabbat services at 7:30 pm. The films will be shown at the Grayhawk Community Association office at 7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy., Scottsdale in the Raptor Room. Bring the kids, ages 3 to 14, to the Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics Center where they’ll get to enjoy an exciting evening of gymnastics, dance, organized games, sports, jumping in a bounce house and on trampolines, obstacle courses, and then wind down the evening by watching a movie. The Kids’ Night Out is from 6 to 10 p.m. Cost is $30 per child with a $5 off sibling discount. Pizza, snacks and drinks are included. Each person will receive 5 different tastes of wine.
We will get to snack on several varieties of cheeses, dried & fresh fruit, olives, nuts, and crackers, and we will receive education!
The wine-maker will go over tasting the wine, general information, production, and sourcing.

The Valley of the Sun JCC offers the community four free yoga classes on June 21 to celebrate the International Day of Yoga.
“Yoga has so many benefits for both the mind and body that we wanted to take this opportunity to invite the community to experience it at no cost,” said Denise Krater, fitness director. “Regular yoga practice improves strength, balance and flexibility while releasing tension and stress.”
The J’s yoga offerings on June 21 include:
9:30 am: Yoga Flow – flowing movements paired with breath to release mind and body
11 am: Restorative Yoga – uses blankets and bolsters rejuvenate the body
Noon: Gentle Yoga – gentle postures strengthen core and increase flexibility. Great for beginners
6 pm: Power Yoga – Challenging poses increase strength and stamina
The classes are free and open to the community.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring water.
