A free Shabbat enrichment program with singing, storytelling, crafts plus blessings with challah and grape juice. All ages welcome.

We invite you to experience this special presentation to usher in the holiest time of our year. Through video clips, vintage photos and stories, our member, Dr. Andrew Erlich, tells the story of his Uncle Jake. At eight feet six inches in height, Jake was considered the “tallest man in the world” for many years and certainly, the tallest Jewish person in history. Come and hear how Jake tapped into his differences and turned what could have been a liability into an asset. Selichot Services. Discussion and prayer at Temple Beth Shalom.
The evening includes a wine, cheese and dessert reception; Havdallah program “The Disputation – Nachmanides Debates Before King James of Aragon”; the changing of the Torah covers; followed by the opening service to the High Holy Days, Selihot, at 10:00pm. No charge; however, reservations are requested by Aug. 31.
Even if your loved ones are not buried in CAI’s Cemetery, you are encouraged to participate in the service and pay your respects to your dearly departed. The 30-minute service includes a special booklet of prayers.
