The history of outlaws and lawmen of the Old West is the origin of many American tales. In this program, children will learn about the exciting past through stories of heroic sheriffs, drifting outlaws, livestock thieves, and the origin of the wanted poster. Children will see an expansive collection of authentic Old West sheriffs’ badges, enjoy a variety of exciting activities, and search for “stolen” saddle bags hidden in the museum gallery. Activities are self-guided; families may drop in at any point during the times listed. RSVP is requested; email education@scottsdalemuseumwest.org to confirm your participation.

Cardozo Society Ethics CLE: Vocal Traits & Hidden Bias

Jordan Kroop, partner at Perkins Coie, presents an engaging and humorous multi-media exploration of emerging vocal characteristics among mostly younger and often female colleagues that may trigger unconscious biases. Attendees will also compete in a thrillingly fast-paced, content-dense quiz on world religions using the latest online mobile technology. Cost: $36. Join friends from JCC Krakow (Poland) as they ride 55 miles from Auschwitz to their JCC. Your participation helps support programs that are building renewed Jewish life in Poland. Open to the entire community. There is a suggested donation to participate in the ride. $18/ride
Ride For The Living was inspired by JCC Krakow member Robert Desmond who rode his bicycle 1,350 miles from London to Auschwitz visiting WWII sites of liberation along his journey. After joining the JCC and becoming an active member, he realized his ride should not have ended in a place of loss, but rather at a place of hope, JCC Krakow, joined by the Jewish community and friends from around the world. Mothers and Children ages 4+ will create a joint masterpiece!!! We will be led by artist Brooke Foster!
We will be using acrylics so PLEASE dress your kid in clothes that you don’t mind getting ruined – or wear the clothes inside out and a smock for good measure!!!!
$20 a mother/child(ren) pair
