We will set up our factory, and you will be able to make a Hanukkiyah that you will be able to bring home and use for the holiday. Our Hanukkiah Factory will include all of the materials needed to make your own special creation. There will be Shabbat and Hanukkah singing with Scott and Julie as well as Shabbat blessings said. Butterfly Wonderland becomes Winter Wonderland to kick off the holiday season with our tranquil blue, white and silver decor. Every Saturday and Sunday, and every day from December 19 through 23, our amazing 7ft. living angels with expansive wings add an ethereal aura to the Conservatory from 10am-4pm, while musical groups Nouveau Papillon, the Scottsdale String Quartet and harpist Adrienne Bridgewater fill the air with the serene sounds of the season from 11am-3pm.
K’Ton Time at Congregation Anshei Israel, 5550 E 5th St., Tucson from 10:30-11 am. This fun & lively 20-minute service led by Gabby Erbst includes songs, prayers, stories & games; playground time for kids & schmoozing time for parents; kid-friendly kiddush. Nine Years of Accessible Services!
Council For Jews With Special Needs (CJSN), a nonprofit agency devoted to providing programs, services, and resources to help those in the Jewish Community with disabilities, and their families, is pleased to announce the dates for the 2015-2016 Simchat Shabbat Season.
Saturday, May 28th, September 17th, and December 10th at Congregation Beth Israel

All services begin at noon and last approximately 45 minutes. The general public is encouraged to join the services.
The first Simchat Shabbat service took place at Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) in 2007. The goal was to have a place where adults with special needs and their families could worship together. The service was created in partnership with CBI including specially designed prayer books that were funded through a generous community grant. With the success of the school year, summer services were added at Temple Emanuel of Tempe. In 2008, Simchat Shabbat won the esteemed Belle Latchman Community Service Award for Best Project Enhancing the Quality of Jewish Life.
“Nine years in, and it is still the most joyous service you will ever attend,” said Stacy Rosenthal, co-creator of Simchat Shabbat. “Everyone is welcome and no one is turned away. The only rule, it is a “no shush” service and a place where God hears all prayers.”

Medal of Honor recipient Joel Kramer
Joel Kramer is a quiet, but passionate man who through his hard work and dedication, has played a significant role in strengthening our Jewish community and in enriching thousands of lives. He has been board chair of both the Federation and the Valley of the Sun JCC and served in leadership roles with numerous other Jewish and non-Jewish organizations. Joel also has played a meaningful role with the Federation annual campaign, the original campus campaign and continues to serve on the board. Joel is also our first Medal of Honor recipient who was a professional athlete; he played for the Phoenix Suns 1978 – 1983.

Guest Speaker Izzy Ezagui
Ezagui is an American-born IDF veteran. At age 18, he lost his dominant arm while serving on the Gaza border during Operation Cast Lead in 2008. Despite the loss, Ezagui was determined to return to combat and he did, within two months. In 2011, Shimon Peres z”l, then president of Israel, awarded him the highest accolade a soldier outside the battlefield can receive.
