Marshall Trimble: Hucksters, Con Men and Bamboozlers @ Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West
Dec 14 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

In the vast Arizona Territory, P.T. Barnum’s axiom, “There’s a sucker born every minute,” was never more true. In this presentation, Marshall Trimble discusses the colorful and creative flimflam artists and their cons, which included non-existent gold and silver mines, “doctors” who sold cure-alls that cured none, and one elaborate plan that fooled not only prominent bankers but an engineer from Tiffany & Company!

Author of more than 20 books on Arizona and the West, Marshall Trimble is not only Arizona’s Official State Historian, but one of the state’s most recognizable, entertaining and informative personalities.
