Music & Me! A parent and child music class every Friday morning at the EVJCC. Taught by Hannah Creviston, Assistant Professor of Music at ASU, she uses an innovative curriculum to aid in developing musical potential of young children ages newborn through 18 months.

NEW! Cong. Anshei Israel “Rhythm and Ruach” Family Shabbat Service and Dinner @ Congregation Anshei Israel

Help us create a new song! As we transition into the “Rhythm of Shabbat,” we will begin our service with a “Drum Circle” – we supply the instruments, you bring the rhythm! Percussion instruments will be available for all who wish to participate. Then we’ll share Shabbat dinner, followed by Open Lounge in the Youth Center with games and fun. Come celebrate Shabbat with ruach (spirit) and your congregational family!  Dinner $25 per family (two adults & up to 4 children) and/or adults (13+) $10 per person. RSVP needed by Aug. 15.

Summer Film Festival @ Grayhawk Community Association office

Desert Foothills Jewish Community Association is presenting a Summer Film Festival. Films will be shown monthly following Shabbat services at 7:30 pm. The films will be shown at the Grayhawk Community Association office at 7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy., Scottsdale in the Raptor Room. The schedule is: “Ahead of Time – Life & Times of Ruth Gruber” June 17,  “1913 Seeds of Conflict” July 15, “A Home on the Range – Jewish Chicken Rangers of Petaluna” August 19 and “A Yiddish World Remembered” September 16.
