Dafna Michaelson Jenet took a year to travel to each of the 50 states and Washington, DC, a state a week! She set out to discover and share the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things within their communities. She captured the stories in her book, It Takes a Little Crazy to Make a Difference. Her quest was featured in several news outlets, including CBS Sunday Morning.
On Thurs., Jan. 14, Michaelson Jenet shares her journey and the amazing stories she discovered as part of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix Women’s Philanthropy The Power of You speaker series. She seeks to inspire others into action.
“Amongst the incredible stories I gathered of 500 people from all walks of life solving problems and making a difference in their communities, I enjoyed crunching the numbers and discovering that 65% were women,” Michaelson Jenet says. “The impact of women on our communities is undeniable. As I share these stories I love watching the minds of the audience begin to spin with solutions they too can implement in their communities.”
The community is invited to hear this dynamic speaker. Participants can choice from a morning session, 8:30-10:30 a.m. or an evening session, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Registration is $25 and includes light refreshments. A book signing follows the presentation and books are available for sale at the event.
“We’re excited to welcome Dafna to our community; we’re looking forward to hearing her amazing stories of those who make a difference, because that is at the heart of our Women’s Philanthropy as well,” said Robin Loeb, director of Women’s Philanthropy and donor relations. “I am also grateful our speaker series chairs Gail Ober and Suzanne Swift for their passion and dedication to Women’s Philanthropy and its programs.”
The event takes place on the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus, 12701 N. Scottsdale Road.
The Power of You speaker series is presented in partnership with the Jewish Book Council and Women’s Philanthropy sponsors Allstate Appliances and The Healing Path Day Spa. For registration and information, please visit jewishphoenix.org/thepowerofyou.
