Camp Shemesh at the Valley of the Sun JCC has a new camp director – Eric Schwartz. Eric has been working at the J in guest services for nearly a year since moving here from California to be closer to his family. He was recently named camp director and couldn’t be happier.
Eric’s roots are in JCC camping, going back to his senior year in high school when he as a camp counselor at the JCC in Irvine, CA. He twent on to receive an elementary education degree from Indiana State and after teaching for a few years, earned his master’s degree in human behavior from University of Southern California. Prior to his move to Arizona, he was the director of both the day camp and the overnight camp at the JCC in Irvine. He’s looking forward to a great summer.
