GPJFF Festival 28th Annual Festival begins Feb. 18 with “ONE LIFE”

The Greater Phoenix Jewish Film Festival is honored to present ONE LIFE as our 28th Annual Festival’s Opening Film, screening on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 7pm at Harkins Theatres Shea 14 in Scottsdale.
Academy Award winner actor Sir Anthony Hopkins and Academy Award-nominated Helena Bonham Carter star in the true inspiring story of Sir Nicholas Winton, a humble British stockbroker who worked to save hundreds of predominantly Jewish children during the Holocaust. During a 1938 visit to Prague with some friends, Winton saw the plight of Jewish families, knew they were racing against time, and worked relentlessly to transport children to safety in England. He didn’t speak of it for nearly 50 years, until his wife uncovered a scrapbook in the attic about the children he saved and gave it to a Holocaust researcher who knew his heroism must be revealed to the world.
