Hanukkah begins at sundown on Sunday, Dec. 22. There are many celebrations happening:

THE VALLEY

Dec. 22-29

Chanukah in Carefree. 5:30 pm Free. Local groups and families will be invited to light the menorah each evening, with a special ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 22 that will include the Temple Chai Cantor and Choir. Glow: A Family Hanukkah Celebration. 5:30-7:30 pm. Free. The program is free and open to all, and includes crafts, menorah lighting, dinner and more! Tucson Jewish Community Center, 3800 E. River Road, Tucson. tucsonjcc.org

Hanukkah Dinner and Klezmer Concert. 5:45-7:30 pm. $30 ($35 non-members), $9 ages 3-12, under 3 free. At 5:30 pm we will light the Millstone Family Menorah, then dinner will begin at 5:45 pm. We will serve the famous Men’s Club latkes, as well as a hearty dinner of kosher brisket and sides. There is also a vegetarian option on request.
During dinner, the ZemerZemer Klezmer Band (including members of Avanim) will entertain with light jazz. After dinner, Cantorial Soloist Marjorie Hochberg will host a Hanukkah singalong. Please register by calling 520-327-4501, or visit tetucson.org/event/hanukkah-dinner.

Dec. 23

Hanukkah Party. 5-6:30 pm. Free. Enjoy an evening of family fun during our special Northwest community Chanukah party! Come and eat latkes, play dreidel, and sing songs. 100 Menorah Shabbat Services. 5:30-6:30 pm. $5/person ages 14 & up. Bring families and friends and join us as we celebrate Shabbat and Chanukah at Temple Emanu-el with Congregation or Chadash with food, fun, prayers and songs. Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. Country Club Road, Tucson.

Dec. 29

Hanukkah “Pajamakkah” at CAI. 6-8 pm. $6.13/person in advance; $13 at the door. Wear your Hanukkah pajamas (or any PJs).
