Love Yourself First Workshop

Martin Pear JCC on the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus (“The J”) announces the workshop Love Yourself First (Nov. 1 from 9:30 am to noon), a way to help women get out of their 2020 negative slump and learn how to set new positive intentions about how they feel, think and speak to themselves and others. The workshop will be led by Alli Goozh, a Certified Transformation Coach, Certified Life Purpose Life Coach, Certified Embody Love Movement Facilitator, Reiki Master for more than 20 years, and fitness instructor for more than 12 years.

Alli says, “Join me on a powerful journey to identify your internalized beliefs about beauty and self-worth and gain tools that allow you to change the conversation from criticism to kindness, internally and then outward to others.”

The morning will begin with a light breakfast and a talk from Rabbi Aviva Funke from The Bureau of Jewish Education and school principal of Hebrew High. She will speak about the connection between self-empowerment and Judaism. For the past two years, Rabbi Aviva has served as School Rabbi for Brawerman Elementary School of Wilshire Boulevard Temple. Co-founder of Na’or, a prayer innovation project, Rabbi Aviva is a regular presenter for Jewish conferences and retreats, and guest rabbi to several communities throughout California and Arizona.

“Our tradition holds that each day the radiance of our Creator’s light shines on us anew, and our prayers ask that we have the ability to embrace this illumination fully. Why? Because it is so easy to think we don’t deserve Divine radiance in our lives; the self-worth struggle is real,” says Rabbi Aviva. “Let’s explore how to enhance our God-spark in the world and let our shine be our connection to the infinite.”
