Phoenix mayor demands answers from Homeland Security

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego is demanding answers from acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Chad Wolf after recent reports that migrant children are being detained at the Hampton Inn & Suites hotel in Phoenix, unbeknownst to City of Phoenix officials.

On July 27, the mayor posted this message on her Twitter account along with the copy of the letter she sent (below) to the Department of Homeland Security:

“Phoenix values the health and safety of every individual, especially children. The secretive use of private hotels to detain migrant children is deeply concerning and inappropriate. I’ve asked for a full investigation and will pursue action on any violations that have occurred.”

“I want to thank Remington Hotels and Hampton Inn Phoenix-Airport North for confirming that they will end business with the gov contractor detaining migrants in hotels. This is only a small victory and more work needs to be done. buy bystolic online
I encourage all other hotels to follow their lead,” says Mayor Gallego on her Facebook post dated July 28:
