Sarah Singer Named Chair of Tucson JCC’s Board

The Tucson Jewish Community Center appointed Sarah Singer as chair of its 31st board of directors in May. An associate at Gadarian & Cacy, PLLC, Singer has served on the Tucson J’s board for seven years.

She is a longtime Tucson resident who previously worked in investment banking and proprietary trading before receiving her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. Sarah also is a member of the J’s first Women inPower cohort, a fellowship that seeks to uplift female leaders through a social impact lens.

Passionate about instilling Jewish values in the lives of her children, Sarah credits her parents, Michael and Barbara Heisler of Tucson, with giving her a strong foundation of community and philanthropy.

Joining her on the board are former chairs Lex Sears and Tom Warne; Claire West, who previously served on the board of Arts for All (which will merge with the J later this year); Ilana Addis, interim chair of the obstetrics and gynecology department at University of Arizona College of Medicine/Banner University Medical Center; and Eric Smith, executive director of the Center for Innovation at the University of Arizona, who is an alum of the J’s early childhood education program and its Camp J summer day camp.
