Discount membership program for ages 50 and older. Card holders can receive discounts on dining, travel, shopping, insurance and more. Some businesses offer senior discounts only to AARP members. Membership is $16/year (discount if you sign up for 3 or 5 years) and your spouse/partner also receives a membership card.
Grocery stores
Senior discounts are usually not available for prescriptions, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, postage stamps, gift cards, Western Union, fuel or lottery tickets. Verify limitations with retailers.

Airlines
Many airlines offer senior discounts, but when you compare these rates to the regular airfare, it is often higher. Before booking a “discounted” fare – make sure that you are truly getting a discount.
Amtrak

Ages 62+ are eligible to receive a 15% discount on the lowest available rail fare on most Amtrak trains. On cross-border services operated jointly by Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada, a 10% senior discount applies to travelers ages 60+.
Car Rentals
Some car rental agencies offer a small senior discount, but most will give a discount to AARP members.
