Temple Beth Emeth of Scottsdale‘s President Clyde Hurtig shared the following message in their April newsletter:
I am very pleased to announce that Temple Beth Emeth has hired Rabbi Zari Sussman as our new spiritual leader. Rabbi Sussman has led congregations in Los Angeles and Ontario California since 2016. The rabbi has participated in and led many programs including Adult education, Torah and Talmud study, and programming for children and teenagers.
She is currently working part-time at Congregation Or Tzion and has enthusiastically agreed to conduct services for our Shul. The Rabbi has a very warm personality, and she also impressed the members of the board this past Sunday when we met at the temple. Another bonus is that she worked as a technology consultant and computer engineer for15 years prior to becoming a rabbi.
We realized that we needed to find someone to lead our congregation. At our meeting, we discussed the future of our Temple and it was decided to immediately begin looking for a spiritual leader. Perhaps someone up high was looking out for us, as very quickly Rabbi Sussman heard about our situation and contacted me. After speaking on the phone, and a few emails back and forth, we set up a meeting with the Rabbi. The rest is history.
Rabbi Sussman would be very happy to meet you and get to know you. Entry is limited to anyone who has been fully vaccinated. Congregants must pass a temperature check, wear a facemask to enter and remain in the sanctuary. We will observe social distancing and provide hand sanitizers.
The shul held its first service in more than a year on April 10.
