This eye-opening program engages children through stories and activities that will help them gain knowledge and an understanding of Native American art, culture and customs. They will learn the story of Sacajawea and the importance of animals to the Native Americans. Hands-on activities will include learning how to draw an American bison, and creating an animal-themed mobile they can take home. Other craft activities will include basket weaving and beadwork, during which they’ll learn about the materials and techniques used to create Native American clothing and art. Activities are self-guided; families may drop in at any point during the times listed. RSVP is requested; email [email protected] to confirm your participation.
