Images of American Indians infused with the history and mythology of the American West have made John Coleman one of the nation’s most highly regarded contemporary artists. It includes creations in charcoal, graphite, oil and bronze, plus some works in progress. THE LEFT TURN LANE: Art Quilts by Thelma Scudi @ Tucson Jewish Community Center
Feb 1 – Mar 7 all-day

February 1 – March 7

What began as a fluke became a personal journey for Thelma Scudi. A self-trained artist from Tucson, Scudi works in cloth and mixed media and credits her talent to ability to see the wonder and beauty in spite of reality. In her description about her piece, Left Turn Lane #1, Scudi states, “I’ll be damned if I find myself standing in the Left Turn Lane, with a sign, at eighty.” The economic viability of older women, who may suddenly find themselves single, is the gist of the story.

JCC Fine Art Gallery Hours:
