Jewish Free Loan would like to remind the community that emergency interest-free loans and resources are still available along with traditional interest-free loans.
The Community-Wide Disaster Relief Loan Program became available to members of the Jewish community at the start of the pandemic and is still open. This program focuses on making interest-free loans when the community is faced with man-made or natural events which are beyond anyone’s control, and where the need for financial assistance is time-sensitive. These needs may include, but are not limited to, childcare expenses, educational costs, rent, utilities, insurance payments and medical needs. This interest-free loan program also allows JFL to expedite requests for assistance.

JFL also has a year-round Economic Crisis Response Program in partnership with Jewish Family and Children’s Service which also offers immediate assistance to members of the Jewish community who are facing economic hardship.

These programs are supported, in part, by the generous funding received from the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix and the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix. Thank you to the Jewish Federation for the numerous grants totaling a sum of $80,000 for COVID-19 relief and the Jewish Community Foundation for their grants totaling $27,500 to support emergency interest-free loans as well as gas and food gift cards for individuals facing financial distress due to the ramification of the ongoing pandemic. JFL is also thankful to the many community partners, volunteers, board members, donors and friends who make it possible for us to meet the needs of our community.
