Join us for a bookmaking workshop to honor your family and loved ones. Bring with you family photos, images, or text that can be copied to create a beautiful piece of visual artwork.
Artist Gaby Hurtado-Ramos, who created the art for the ASYLUM exhibition, will introduce you to a variety of simple binding techniques and image transfer methods. Along with prompts and starting points that have been helpful in their own artwork, we will
dive into making a handmade book that might honor or bring you closer to an ancestor.
This workshop requires a sliding scale $25-50 supplies fee. RSVP required:

Artist Bio:
Gaby Hurtado-Ramos is an artist currently based in Providence, Rhode Island, via Tucson,
Arizona. A printmaker, illustrator, and bookmaker. Her practice involves family history, personal joys, and politically engaged work. The thing she misses the most about Tucson is the amazing people here and dancing with them to cumbia.
