Teens can apply for a $36K leadership award

The Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards are now accepting applications.

Up to 15 Jewish teens will be awarded $36,000 each. The Diller Family Foundation, which presents the awards, seeks teens who show “significant initiative and leadership in creating and leading a new initiative – or have considerably deepened or expanded an existing project — that embodies the values of tikkun olam, repairing the world.”

Recipients may use the award to further their education and/or their initiative.

Projects may have any focus, from raising money, to hands-on interactions, to larger systemic-change initiatives. Projects can have a local, national, or global focus benefiting the Jewish or general community.

The awards are open to teens (13–19 years old) who self-identify as Jewish, live in the United States, and are not compensated for their work.

Teens may apply directly online by submitting an application by Jan. 8, 2021.

The awards began in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2007, and went national in 2013.
