Fan fest for the ballet

Ballet Arizona Fan Fest (Sun. Aug. 25). 1-4 pm. Free. Inspired by the Valley’s professional sports teams, Ballet Arizona Fan Fest will engage fans and preview the 2019-2020 season. The free family event will be en pointe with an array of festivities, including a meet and greet with dancers, dance competitions, dance classes, food trucks, tours and selfie station. Learn about the desert

“Haboob!” the Second Summer of the Sonoran Desert (Sat. Aug. 24). 3-4 pm. $5 ages 3 & up, accompanying adults free. Join Park Ranger Lisa Quiñónez as she talks about what causes these conditions and then create the sounds of a Sonoran Desert storm with games, activities, and a project making instruments that mimic the sounds of a storm.
