For the Summer, Schmooze Young Families (20s-40s) is making a monthly stop at different Phoenix area splash pads for some nice cool fun outdoors! We’re kicking this off in June with a visit to the fun splash pad at the Scottsdale Quarter. Be on the lookout for the Schmooze sign to gather with other Schmooze members.

Calling Moms, Dads, and children! Join Schmooze Young Families for a fun and crafty afternoon celebrating dads! We will be making and decorating stained wood picture frames perfect for Father’s Day gifts. The cost is $10 (per picture frame) and includes all the supplies. You can pay with cash at the event. Jewish Family & Children’s Service is pleased to announce its April Memory Café will feature an interactive sing-along with the JFCS Senior Chorus, The Sunshine Singers, at Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Glendale Avenue in Phoenix on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 10 to 11:30 am.
The Sunshine Singers, who are part of the Creative Aging program of JFCS, have been rehearsing together for several months, led by the talented Daniel Kurek.
The Café is a meeting place for those with changes in their thinking or memory, mild cognitive impairment or dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder, along with their care partners. Offered on the first Thursday of the month, each Café has a new theme and includes meaningful, fun activities to engage the participants and stimulate their minds and bodies. Socialization is a key component to the cafés, as they are meant to be a place to relax, meet others and have fun in a nurturing and accepting environment.
Open to the public, this FREE weekly class for children 9- to 24-months in age and their parent(s) is a great way to meet other parents, exchange experiences, and provide an opportunity for the children to play together and engage in age-appropriate activities. Facilitated by Gabby Erbst, various experts from different fields of child development and child-care will visit to share their expertise and provide opportunities for discussions. As the Phoenix Pride Parade approaches on October 22nd, Temple Chai members are donning Jewish Pride t-shirts and getting ready to join the procession. They’re holding a special pride Shabbat on October 20th and invite all to join in the festivities.
