Schmooze Couples ShabbatLuck (Shabbat Potluck) @ Location in North Scottsdale (RSVP for details)

Schmooze Couples (30s & 40s) are hosting a ShabbatLuck (Shabbat Potluck Dinner). Join in the fun for an evening of food, friends, and fun in North Scottsdale (near 64th Street and Bell). If interested, this event may even turn into a Game Night as who can resist a good old fashioned board game. If you have children, you’ll want to find a sitter for the evening.

Schmooze: The Return of ShabbatLuck (Shabbat potluck) @ Temple Chai

It’s back!  After a several year hiatus, Schmooze is proud to bring the Phoenix area a large ShabbatLuck (Shabbat potluck dinner) event in North Phoenix (at Temple Chai) for an evening of food, friends, and fun. Feel free to join Temple Chai (Reform) for its Shabbat service at 6:15 PM with other ShabbatLuck members. We will mix and mingle in one of the social halls after the service around 7:30 PM with dinner served around 7:50 PM. If you are unable to join us for services, you can still show up for the dinner. If you do attend the services, feel free to drop off potluck items first.

Jewish Family & Children’s Service Presents Monday Movie Matinee Featuring “The Frisco Kid” @ Bureau of Jewish Education on the Ina Levine Jewish Community Center Campus

Jewish Family & Children’s Service presents its Monday Movie Matinee featuring the 1979 film, “The Frisco Kid” starring Gene Wilder and Harrison Ford.

The event will take place on April 9 at 12:30 p.m. at the Bureau of Jewish Education on the Ina Levine Jewish Community Center Campus, 12701 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

Also starring Ramon Bieri, Val Bisoglio and George DiCenzo, this Robert Aldrich-directed film follows a Polish rabbi who wanders through the Old West on his way to lead a synagogue in San Francisco.

Max McQueen, former film critic for the East Valley Tribune, will host a discussion session following the film.

Israeli film: ‘Shelter’ @ East Valley JCC

In “Shelter,” a Mossad agent is sent on a mission to protect a Lebanese informer while she recovers from plastic surgery. What should be an easy assignment quickly turns into a labyrinth of espionage and intrigue inside a safe house.

The film is part of an Israeli movie series held at the East Valley JCC, 908 N. Alma School Road, Chandler. Admission is free, donations are appreciated.
